WHAT THE #$!@ IS GOING ON WITH MY GOVERNMENT?
The Pollyanna in me wants to play with my dog, run on the beach and pretend none of this is happening but I know that doing nothing is a privilege that I reap from being white and wealthy. I have been taking action as a teacher for many years by educating my students AGAINST bigotry, racism and misogyny. I have definitely ramped it up in the last few months, handing out and discussing The Constitution and highlighting ALL heroes in our history to reinforce that, as Americans, "diversity is our strength." (Ironically, a quote about Canada by their Prime Minister offering to take in people rejected entry into the US)
I am also writing as many emails as I can, signing as many petitions as I can and calling my senator as often as I can. I know what can be done varies form person to person, but I wanted to share my resources in a hope that others would find them useful because we must each do something. I also know I can be doing more. So please also feel free to share with me and with others what you are doing so we can all get more ideas.
